Material Compliance

C & C Metal Products has been a leading supplier of metal components and fasteners for over 100 years. In continuing with our tradition of excellent service, innovative solutions and outstanding quality, we have adjusted our materials to be in compliance with our customer’s regulatory requirements throughout the world, and we will continue to do so as new regulations come into effect.

 

According to the American Society of Testing & Manufacturing (ASTM), an independent and international standards development organization, the following maximum percentage of lead trace elements in the materials used in manufacturing our products are: 

 

Base Metals:  

The Brass Strip we use for stamped products contain a maximum of .01% (100 ppm) lead content. 

The Brass Wire we use for formed products contain a maximum of .01% (100 ppm) lead content. 

The Steel we use contains no significant trace elements of lead.

The Aluminum we use conforms to the physical and chemical properties in accordance with the Aluminum Association industry standards.

The Zinc we use for our castings (ZN-3) may contain a maximum of 0.01 % lead content (100 ppm).

Electroplate Coatings:  

The Copper used in plating copper tone finishes contains no significant trace elements of lead.

The Nickel used in plating silver tone finishes contains no significant trace elements of lead.

The Brass used in plating brass tone contain no significant trace elements of lead.

The Gold used in plating our real gold finishes contain than 1 ppm trace elements of lead. 

The Tin used in plating Nickel Free finishes contains no significant trace elements of lead.

Finishing Treatments:  

The Lacquer used to coat some of our finishes contain no significant trace elements of lead.

The darkening agents used for black, antique and colonial metal finishes contain no significant trace elements of lead.

Any Paint and Antique Coating we use in our products are contains no significant trace elements of lead.
